Norma Lee (Ballard) Edmisten was born July 8, 1937, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Victor and Alice (Harris) Ballard. She died Friday, July 17, 2015, in Catoosa, Oklahoma, at the age of 78 years. Norma was reared and educated in Tulsa and graduated with the Daniel Webster High School Class of 1955, then moved on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree from Northeastern State University in 1959. She was married June 3, 1960 in Red Fork, Oklahoma to Richard Edmisten. Norma spent most of her working life as an elementary school teacher, teaching at Owasso Public Schools for 34 years. Norma was a longtime Owasso resident, but loved to travel. She had visited all 50 states in the U.S. and collected both dolls and lighthouses while on the road. Norma also enjoyed playing bunco with her friends, but most important to her was family.
