Norman Dale Huffstutler, longtime resident of the Owasso–Collinsville area, passed from this life on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at his home. Norman was born October 27, 1936 in Hamilton County, Illinois to Calvin Paul and Samantha Frances (Tennyson) Huffstutler. He was raised and received his education in McLeansboro, IL. On April 22, 1956, he and Marilyn Coy were united in marriage in the First Baptist Church of Belle Prairie, IL. Norman worked as a truck driver for forty years prior to retirement. In 1962, he and Marilyn moved to Owasso. Norman was a member of the First Baptist Church of Owasso and enjoyed hunting, fishing and John Deere Tractors.
Those that survive and hold many cherished memories include his wife of 61 years – Marilyn; their son – Mike and wife Rita Huffstutler of Nowata, OK; a grandson Coy Huffstutler and wife Andrea of Odessa, TX and great grandchildren Mason Angle, Cole, Emery and Eli Huffstutler. Also surviving is a brother Lowell Huffstutler and wife Jill of McLeansboro, IL; Sister-in-law Lucina Coy; nieces Ericka Fuesting and husband Chad and Britt Rokita and husband Dave, sister-in-law, Lucina Cox, as well as several other nieces and nephews. Norman was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, July 10, 2017 in the chapel of Mowery Funeral Service, Owasso with Pastor Chris Wall officiating. Special music will be provided by Paul Purifoy. Honorary casket bearers will be Grady Gaylord, Jerry Rutledge, John Dresher, Larry Olds, Lloyd Leach, Bud Rodman, Earl Spickelmier and Mike Reid. Norman will be laid to rest in the Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery, Owasso, OK. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso. www.moweryfs.com
