Sara Irene “Sally” Bowman was born on September 11, 1950, in Pryor, Oklahoma, to James Hawley Jackson and Ethel Irene (Looney) Jackson. She passed from this life on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at her home in Owasso, Oklahoma at the age of 73 years. Sally was raised and educated in Pryor and graduated with the Pryor High School Class of 1968. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in education from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Sally spent most of her working life as a teacher with Collinsville Public Schools for 50 years. She was married in Pryor on December 17, 1970, to Eddie Bowman. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Collinsville, where she also helped with the kitchen crew. In her spare time, Sally enjoyed shopping, girls’ trips, sewing and fixing the kids’ clothes, watching Hallmark movies, listening to Christmas music, working jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with friends from church, but most of all, she loved her family and especially her role as “Geega.”

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 4, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Collinsville with Pastor Tim Prock officiating. There will be a visitation at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Sally’s memory to John 3:16 Mission, 506 N. Cheyenne Ave. Tulsa, OK 74103. Please put “In Memory of Sally Bowman” in the memo line. Arrangements and services were entrusted to the Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso.
