3/06/2018 – Owasso Orthodontics is on a mission to help some tiny troops, as well as troops serving our country. It’s a Win-Win for them both!
At the end of February, Owasso Orthodontics posted the following offer to their Facebook page:
We will buy 2 cases of cookies from ALL Girl Scout Troops that show up to our office in uniform for a group photo. We will be donating these cookies to help fill care packages for our troops overseas.
We will post your troop pic to our social media to help promote your troop!!! Please pass the word around so we can buy tons of cookies and give our troops a yummy taste of home!!!! Our office is located in Owasso at 12813 E. 101st Place N.
Please make sure you have at least 5 members from your troop with you and in uniform when you come to the office for a pic. We are so excited that see you all!!!! Thank you for helping us out with “Troop to Troop”.
Dr Jeff Housley, with Owasso Orthodontics tells us to date, they have collected nearly 20 cases of cookies from Girl Scout troops to be shipped to our troops overseas. They are continuing to purchase the cookies through the end of March.
Housely said one of his colleagues is doing this in the Norman area. The response had been outstanding, so he told his colleague that their office would be happy to help out by collecting cookies in this area of the state.
As far as shipping the cookies, they have contacted a few organizations that put together care packages. They we will be posting an upcoming announcement to their Facebook page, to see if any of their patients have family or friends that are deployed.
