The Owasso Character Council exists to promote character and community.
Today they were excited to have the opportunity to award a $5,000 scholarship at the OHS Senior Awards Assembly.
After announcing last fall that they would be awarding a scholarship, they received forty-three applicants. Applicants submitted responses to questions reflective of character and the value of good character. Each applicant went through a blind rating process. The top seven applicants participated in an oral panel interview. At the Owasso Character Council, good character is a standard they raise. It is the goal they strive to achieve.
The final award went to Brooks Cataudella, of Owasso High School. In his response, he discussed humility. He admitted that it is something he has not achieved yet, but is working toward. He acknowledged the importance of using who we are and what we have to benefit others.
Congratulations Brooks!
