11/01/2017 Through a partnership, that launched April 3, 2017, Traditional Bakery, Inc. /Oklahoma City Bakery, Inc. franchise (TBI/OKC), Panera Bread bakery-cafes in Oklahoma, Northwest and Central Arkansas, and Southwest Missouri have given guests the opportunity to round up their purchase total to the nearest dollar. Proceeds from rounded-up transactions have been donated to Baking Memories 4 Kids. At today’s event, Panera presented Baking for Memories a check for $131,000. That will allow 30 families to be awarded vacations. Baking Memories 4 Kids, established in 2012 by cancer survivor Frank Squeo, is a non-profit foundation that provides children with life threatening or terminal illnesses and their families an all-expense paid vacation to all the theme parks in Orlando, Florida. For one week, these courageous families will be able to focus on the joys of life and put aside the daily struggles of having a loved one with a serious illness. Wyatt Wolery of Owasso was born prematurely at only 27 weeks. His survival was a miracle but it brought with it a series of medical conditions that left Wyatt, now 6, wheelchair bound and dependent on a ventilator to breathe and a g- tube for nutrition. To compound his condition, he also suffers from a form of epilepsy that can trigger as many as a dozen seizures a day. The Wolery family has always put Wyatt’s needs first and has chosen to take whatever vacation time they could around his treatments which doesn’t allow for a lot of family bonding time. Thanks to Panera Bread and Baking Memories 4 Kids that is going to change. On Wednesday, November 1st, the team at the Panera Bread’s Owasso Café joined BM4K’s founder, Frank Squeo in surprising Wyatt and his sister with a trip of a lifetime. This February, the Wolery family will be celebrating Wyatt’s 7th birthday in Orlando, Florida.
