Update: On 08/09/2014, at approximately 2:48 PM, the Owasso Police Department received a report of a bank robbery that had just occurred at IBC Bank (9350 N Garnett Rd) in Owasso.
The suspect gave an employee a note indicating that there was a bomb inside the building that would be detonated unless the employee provided the suspect with money. The suspect received the money and fled the scene prior to the arrival of the Owasso officers.
The Tulsa Bomb Squad is currently clearing the bank to ensure that an explosive device is not present before the scene can be processed by OPD detectives and the FBI.
The suspect is described as a white male, stocky build with dark facial hair. He was wearing a blue/gray long sleeve shirt, sunglasses and a cloth hat. When it becomes available, we will provide an image of the suspect from the security cameras.
The suspect’s vehicle was described as a tan or green small SUV.

At approximately 2:45 pm Saturday afternoon, the IBC Bank located at 9350 North Garnett was robbed.
Employees reported a man with a duffle bag entered the bank, implied there was a bomb and demanded money. He left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Officers are still on the scene, and we will update you with new information as it comes in.
