From Owasso Police Department: Meet your new Deputy Chief of Police Owasso. (Former) Detective Jason Woodruff was named Deputy Chief of Police by Chief Scott Chambless last week following a lengthily in-house promotion process. Woodruff is a native of Colcord, Oklahoma and a US Army veteran that has been a commissioned Law Enforcement Officer since 1994. Woodruff came to the Owasso Police Force in 2004 and has spent most of the mean time serving as an Investigator in the Detective Division of the Force. Twice decorated for his efforts in Interviews and Interrogations of child murder suspects, Woodruff was also awarded the Congressional Medal of Bravery following his actions at a robbery scene in Owasso in 2010, whereby Woodruff intervened in a convenience store robbery, shooting the would-be robber and saving the citizens trapped inside. Woodruff fills this position, left vacant when Chambless moved from Deputy Chief to Chief, following the retirement of long-time Chief Dan Yancey last year. Please join us in congratulating Deputy Chief of Police, Jason Woodruff!
