02/24/2018 – A man is lucky to be alive today after being rescued from an Owasso pond Friday evening around 7:00pm by Owasso Police and Fire. Police say the man lost control of his pickup and ended up in an apartment pond at the Greens Apartments.
When the Owasso Fire Department arrived on scene, several officers (5) were already in the water attempting rescue. Officers kicked out a window and pulled the man to shore. One person was in the vehicle and and was transported by Owasso medics for treatment. Officers tell us the man was alert and talking after the rescue.
Residents at The Greens posted on the Owassoisms Facebook page that this is not the first time a vehicle has ended up in the body of water.
Scanner traffic indicated that police jumped right in upon arrival, losing personal (cell phone, etc) items in the water after they did.
