Owasso Police Incident #2024-4998 – Suspicious Activity Involving Children – Country Estates
On Monday, February 26th, 2024, at around 6:23 PM, Owasso Police received a report regarding an “Attempted Abduction” near the vicinity of 121st St N and 111th E Ave within the Country Estates neighborhood of Owasso. Following the report, officers conducted an investigation and uncovered two separate alleged incidents involving children of varying age groups. One group comprised individuals aged 9 to 10 years old, while the other consisted of individuals aged 12 to 13 years old. The initial incident occurred between 3:30 PM and 3:45 PM, involving juveniles walking from a bus stop toward their residence. Subsequently, the second incident transpired between 6:00 PM and 6:15 PM. Notably, the two groups of juveniles were unaware of each other’s encounters, and the incidents took place approximately a residential block apart.
In both instances, the suspect was described as a white male with a slender/athletic build, sporting a dirty blonde/light beard, along with extensive neck tattoos, notably including a prominent cross, as well as tattoos adorning both arms. The left arm reportedly featured a multi-colored sleeve tattoo. The suspect allegedly attempted to persuade the juveniles to enter his vehicle; however, these attempts were unsuccessful. Descriptions of the suspect’s vehicle varied slightly, with one group identifying it as a light silver sedan, while the other group described it as a light silver Jeep Compass or a similar vehicle.
Owasso Police have gathered exterior security camera footage from numerous residences in the vicinity and are currently reviewing footage from surrounding FLOCK cameras for potential leads. It’s pertinent to note that in neither incident did the suspect employ physical force or attempt to seize a child. Nonetheless, the suspicious behavior and attempts to coax children into the vehicle are deeply concerning.
