Oklahoma’s “Rally for Education” will take place on March 31, at the capitol building in Oklahoma City. The Education Rally is a unified effort to encourage Oklahoma Legislators to secure funding for public education.
Since 2009, the amount of state aid available per student has been reduced by $243.60! Public schools have $199,429,221.00 fewer dollars today than in 2009. This year the Oklahoma Legislature and Governor will decide the fate of millions of dollars of tax revenue and tax cuts that affect education and other core government services. 2014 is an election year and represents the best opportunity for parents, community leaders, educators and students to fight for adequate funding for our community schools! We must make education funding a priority – WE HAVE 678,000 REASONS!
Please take a moment of your time to read through the Rally Resolution and respond to our survey concerning parent and teacher participation in the Rally on March 31.
