Yard Waste Collection
The City of Owasso will begin collecting yard waste again Monday, April 17, 2017 and service will continue this year until November 17, 2017. View our yard waste order form for more information.
We Accept
- Aluminum (beverage cans only)
- Batteries (Lead-Acid and Rechargeable)
- Cardboard
- Cooking Oil
- Glass (colored and clear)
- Newspaper
- Paper (misc., paperboard, and shredded)
- Passenger Tires (No Rims)
- Phone Books and Magazines
- Plastics (Type #1, Type #2, and Type #5)
- Scrap Metal
- Used Motor Oil, Antifreeze, Grease, and Hydraulic Fluid (no Brake Fluid)
Recycling Tips
- Take plastic bags and sandwich bags to local grocery stores for recycling.
- Recycle old electronics, household chemicals, household and car batteries, paints, aerosols, pool chemicals, fluorescent light bulbs, and unused or old medications at the M.E.T.
- The Tulsa Household Pollutant Collection Facility can accept lawn chemicals, household chemicals, and other hard to dispose of items. See details below.
- Use the yard waste collection service provided to Owasso residents during yard waste season (see beginning and ending dates listed above), or use the “Free Landfill Day,” provided twice per year.
- Yard waste can also be taken to the Tulsa Mulch Site. See details below.
- Recycle accepted items at the Owasso Recycle Center!

Tulsa Mulch Site
Offers yard waste disposal for a small fee, and free wood chips for mulch. Open 7 days a week 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., excluding City Holidays. Located at 2100 N. 145th E. Ave. (918) 591-4325. See also the flyer here.
Metropolitan Environmental Trust
The Metropolitan Environmental Trust (M.E.T.) coordinates and promotes recycling and environmental events in the metropolitan Tulsa area including Broken Arrow, Jenks, Glenpool, Sand Springs, Claremore, Collinsville, Coweta, Owasso and Bixby. Tulsa Household Pollutant Collection Facility
Owasso residents are allowed to utilize the Tulsa Household Pollutant Collection Facility located at 4502 S. Galveston Ave. Tulsa, OK 74107.
