Local 10th-grade student Alyse Bemis has officially released her debut novel, Gold: A Princess Tale, now available on Amazon in both paperback and Kindle formats. This captivating story invites middle-grade readers on a heartwarming journey filled with themes of courage, joy, and the love of God.
The origins of Alyse’s novel trace back to a story she first imagined at just seven years old. Years later, that imaginative spark evolved into a full-fledged adventure, culminating in Gold: A Princess Tale. Set in a troubled kingdom, the tale follows a young princess who bravely embarks on a mission to help her people while learning to confront her own struggles with self-worth.
Drawing inspiration from beloved authors like L.M. Montgomery and Melanie Cellier, Alyse skillfully weaves timeless fairy tale elements with meaningful lessons. Writing the book, she says, helped her navigate perfectionism and find strength in her faith. “I want young readers to walk away knowing they are loved and valued by God,” Alyse explains.
