RCS McTeacher’s Night raises more than $12,600, sets records
Rejoice Christian Schools’ Sept. 23 McTeacher’s Night was a success with more than $12,600 raised from the event. Once again, RCS set the nationwide record for the most money raised at a McTeacher’s Night. McDonald’s gives 20 percent of the event’s proceeds to Rejoice Christian Schools, and the school receives 100 percent of pie proceeds.
“McTeacher’s Night was possible and successful because of Rejoice Christian Schools’ parents and staff,” RCS Communications Director Cara Cox said. “Students enjoyed the class competitions and seeing their teachers at the event. We are thankful for RCS parents who made this event possible through their support. We’re also grateful for the dedicated administrators, teachers and staff who volunteered their time and creativity. We are very appreciative of McDonald’s in Owasso. They were generous to host Rejoice Christian Schools’ fundraiser, and their employees were a joy to partner with for this event.”
Rejoice Christian Schools is appreciative of Owasso’s P&K Equipment for donating remote control John Deere tractors for prizes. McTeacher’s Prize Tickets were sold, and three winners were randomly selected. Both RCS teacher Stephanie Lietzke and RCS parent Micah Bennett won remote control John Deere Tractors. Cheryl Reese, an aunt of a RCS student, won the grand prize of an iPad mini. Classes that sold the most McTeacher’s Prize Tickets won field won a free field trip, and 4,578 tickets were sold in total. Both Coach Albert Kemp’s class and Mrs. Mary Cole’s sixth-grade class won a free off-campus lunch to a local Mexican restaurant.
Many RCS teachers participated in the first annual McTeacher’s Night Door-Decorating Contest. The contest’s winner was K4 teacher Bethaney Hargis, and more than $1,700 was raised through this contest. Hargis won an afternoon at a local spa for winning the door-decorating contest.
RCS teachers sold McDonald’s pies at McTeacher’s Night, and 1,500 pies were sold, which raised more than $5,200. The school is grateful for each RCS Pie Queen’s help and time. They even dressed as queens for the event.
