Robert Edward Mooney was born February 19, 1940, in Syracuse, New York, to Lyndon Nichols Mooney, Sr. and Francis Winefred Howell. He walked home on the holy road Thursday, May 21, 2015, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 75 years. Robert was reared and educated in New York and graduated with the New York High School Class of 1957. He continued his education at the Institute of Aeronautics in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, graduating in 1957. He made his home in Owasso when he began working for American Airlines in Tulsa as a jet engine technician. Robert was a longtime faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church in Owasso. He followed the way of the Lord in his daily walk and served the church in a variety of capacities. He was dearly loved by his family and friends.

Two sisters; Nancy Schupp, of North Kingston, Rhode Island, Lynda Barnes, of Bay Shore, New York
Three grandchildren; Blake Mooney, Colt Horn, James Horn
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Norma Mooney, and two sons, James Mooney, and Richard Mooney.
Funeral service will be held 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at the First Presbyterian Church in Owasso with Reverend Natalie Bell and Dr. Charles Freeland III officiating. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the OpenTable Community Café, 12650 East 86th Place North, Owasso, Oklahoma, 74055, or Meals on Wheels, 12620 East 31st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74146. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
