Rodney Maier was born April 28, 1954 in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan to Russell Edward Maier and Helen Bernie Butynski. He passed from this life on Saturday, November 17, 2018, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 64 years. Rod was raised and educated in Inkster, Michigan and attended Cherry Hill High School. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army. After being honorably discharged Rod returned home where he spent most of his working life as a painter. Rod loved animals and had a love of caring for stray cats. He enjoyed a variety of past times such as raising plants and cacti and volunteering with different organizations. Those he leaves behind who hold many cherished memories include his brother Larry Maier and wife Tudy, of Owasso. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Helen.
Graveside Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 26, 2018 at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso with Chaplain Steve Holestine officiating. Serving as Casket Bearers will be Chad Martin, Randy Glenn, Dakota Glenn, and Mark Jones. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
