Rose Eleanor Goad was born November 26, 1924, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Joseph Giuseppe and Anna Marie Mosca Muccio. She died Saturday, August 21, 2021, in Catoosa, Oklahoma, at the age of 96 years. Rose was reared and educated in Watertown, Massachusetts, and was a graduate of Watertown High School. She was married May 11, 1946, in Watertown to John B. Goad. She spent much of her working life as an accountant with the Oil and Gas Journal in Tulsa. Rose was strong in her faith and was a devout Catholic throughout her life. She helped her husband on the farm and enjoyed working with cattle and horses. She was a volunteer with Grand Gateway and had been honored as their Volunteer of the Year. She also served on the Grand Gateway Advisory Council on the Ageing. Rose served as an Ombudsman volunteer with Brookdale Senior Living Center in Claremore. She was a Silver Haired Legislator and was the recipient of a citation from the Oklahoma State Legislators.

Rosary service will be held 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 26, 2021, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Father Matt LaChance officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Lester Cain, Jim Bennefield, Paul Dean, Jo Colaruotolo, Chuck Miles, and John Goad, Jr. Committal service and interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2448 East 81st Street, Suite 3000, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74137. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
