Shirley Jean Pidgeon was born May 7, 1933, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Manley Lea and Wilma Mae Fray Sloat. She died Saturday, February 25, 2017, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 83 years. Shirley was reared and completed her secondary education in Tulsa. She was married May 1, 1950, in Tulsa to Leo Pidgeon. She spent most of her working life as nurse, primarily with St. Francis Hospital. She later worked as a home health care worker. Shirley enjoyed a variety of pastimes including cooking and going camping, particularly at Blue Creek at Oologah Lake.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at Mowery Funeral Service. Graveside funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso with Pastor Ben Killion officiating.
