Shirley Jean Sherrell was born September 27, 1939, in Checotah, Oklahoma, to Raymond Cecil and Ida Neal Creekmore. She died Tuesday, November 20, 2018, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 79 years. Jean was reared and educated in Checotah, Oklahoma, and graduated with the Checotah High School Class of 1957. She continued her education attending Draughns Business College in Tulsa. She was married January 11, 1959, in El Reno, Oklahoma, to Albert Len Sherrell. Jean worked at Kopp’s restaurant in Tulsa for some time but for most of her working life she assisted her husband with the family business at Sherrell Paint and Body in Tulsa.

Chelsea Simon and Austin Simon, of Edmond, Oklahoma
Jodi Hendrick and husband Micah
Corbin Sherrell and wife Cassidy
Great grand-son; Lucas Len Sherrell
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Len Sherrell, and three brothers, Vaughn Creekmore, Warren Creekmore, and Bob Creekmore.
 
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 26, 2018, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Pastor Leonard Pirtle officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Vic Sherrell, Mark Evans, Matt Sherrell, Austin Simon, Gary Sherrell, and Josh Cordova. Private family committal service and interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
