On 09/11/2014, at approximately 12:05 PM, Owasso police were dispatched to the Owasso RAM Academy at 202 W Broadway in reference to a student making threats to carry out a shooting at the school.
School Resource Officers interviewed the suspect, a 17 year old male, as well as several witnesses who had allegedly heard the threats. After conducting an investigation into the incident, the suspect was taken into custody on the charge of Planning or Threatening a Violent Act.
At this point, there is no evidence indicating that the suspect took any tangible steps toward carrying out the attack at the school. There is no known active threat against any student at the RAM Academy or any school in Owasso.
Because the suspect is a juvenile, his identity is not being released at this time. He was a student actively enrolled at the RAM Academy when the alleged threats occurred.
