Susan Denise McDaniel was born December 16, 1953, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Ernest Dean and Ruby Lee (Reamey) Potter. She died Friday, August 29, 2014, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 60 years. Susan was raised in Owasso and graduated with the Owasso High School Class of 1972. Susan retired from Citgo Petroleum Corporation in 2003, then returned to college to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education from Northeastern State University in 2007. She taught English in Bartlesville, Sand Springs and Roland; she had just begun her second year at Catoosa High School at the time of her death. She was an avid reader and a longtime faithful member of First Presbyterian Church in Owasso.
Loving family members include: Parents; Ernest and Ruby Potter of Owasso, Oklahoma Three children; Dusty Key, of Moncks Corner, South Carolina Tara Kerr and her husband Josh, of Perry, Oklahoma Dena Adams and her husband Brian, of Owasso, Oklahoma Three grandchildren; Brandi Key Kellan Kerr Emma Adams Great granddaughter; Callie Raye Key Spouse; Micheal McDaniel She was preceded in death by her brother, Danny Potter.
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 2, 1014, at First Presbyterian Church in Owasso with Reverend Natalie Bell officiating. Committal services and interment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at a later date.
