06/04/2019 – I visited Owasso Community Resources this morning, answering a call for needed grocery bags. While there, I found they were in need of much more than shopping bags.
The parking lot and hallways were full…. full of area families needing a helping hand. Yet, walking through the building you can’t help but notice empty shelves. I asked for a pantry tour, and the photos you see above are what I found. Vegetables were almost nonexistent, as were canned soup, fruits, and meats. Toiletry supply boxes were nearly empty.
Fresh foods donated daily by area grocery stores are running out in almost an hour, and that is with a limit of five items per client.
The need is great, and growing. OCR employees tell us there has been a climbing need each month since the first of the year. Now that school is out for the summer, it is climbing more, and they can use your help.

- Instant potatoes
- Hamburger Helper
- Canned Beans
- Spaghetti Sauce
- Canned Pasta (spaghetti o’s, ravioli)
- Canned Fruit ( peaches, pears, applesauce)
- Canned Vegetables (corn, green beans, carrots)
- Rice (brown or white)
- Pasta Noodles (spaghetti or elbow)
- Crackers (Triscuits, Ritz, thins)
Hygiene Items: (sample and hotel size items also welcome)
- Deodorant
- Tooth Paste
- Tooth Brushes
- Shampoo
- Conditioner
- Body Soap
- Body Wash
- Toilet Paper
- Diapers ( sizes 1-6)
- Baby Wipes
