Tommie Lambert Wilkins was born January 25, 1974, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Joyce Faye Lambert and Larry Wright. She died Sunday, November 1, 2015, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 41 years. Tommie had lived at the Baptist Children’s Home in Owasso until the third grade at which time she moved permanently into the home of Tommie Boyd. She completed her secondary education in Owasso and graduated with the Owasso High School Class of 1992. She continued her education attending Rogers State College in Claremore, Oklahoma, and then Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She was the recipient of a scholarship from the Department of Human Services to attend the University of Oklahoma where she completed the Master’s program in social services. Tommie was a social worker for DHS and was described as “Miss DHS with a badge”. If she saw someone who did not have children properly secured in a vehicle, she would literally pull out her badge in the parking lot and make them secure the child. After marrying Kevin Wilkins and having her daughter Chloe, she began working at St. John-Owasso Health Systems. She touched many lives throughout her life and will be missed by her family and many friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 5, 2015, at First Church of Owasso with Pastor Adam Stang officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Lance Miller, Mitchell Goins, Joshua Goins, Trey Lambert, Cole Lambert, and Austin Lambert. Committal services and interment will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Tommie Wilkins Memorial Fund, C/o RCB Bank, 11633 East 86th Street North, Owasso, Oklahoma, 74055. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
