Owasso’s Trails End BBQ and Grill to be Featured on Trisha’s Southern Kitchen
John Cash knows a thing or two about BBQ. John has owned and operated Trail’s End BBQ and Grill in Owasso since 1997, and the love of his creations is what prompted Trisha Yearwood to invite him to cook with her on an upcoming episode of Trisha’s Southern Kitchen.
Trisha and her husband, Garth Brooks became regular guests of the restaurant soon after making their home in Owasso. John has done several catering jobs for them as well.
John is famous around the area for his ribs, but smoked brisket was on menu when Trisha came to cook. After John taught her the tricks of smoking the perfect brisket, Trisha invited him to her Owasso kitchen to try her version of brisket, along with “cooked to death green beans,” oven baked fried pickles and blackberry cobbler with homemade ice cream.
John said his love for BBQ started when he was a child, watching his father cook ribs every Thanksgiving, as his father was not a fan of Turkey. As John got a little older, dad let him help at the grill year round. In 1992, before opening Trails End BBQ & Grille, he made the rounds in BBQ competitions.
John said “ Doing the show was a wonderful experience, and Trisha and staff made a camera shy person feel very comfortable.”
John currently has a food truck in the works, and is scouting out the perfect spot for a second location.
The episode of Trisha’s Southern Kitchen “Barbecue with a Master” will air Saturday, August 30 at 9:30 am on the Food Network.
Trails End BBQ and Grill is located at 8800 North Garnett Road in Owasso. You may reach them by phone at 918-272-RIBS.
