Due to the January 13, 2015 passage of ½ Penny sales tax increase, the Owasso City Council will be presented with an ordinance to eliminate the $3 monthly Public Safety Capital fee currently found on monthly utility bills.
Currently, the fee is reflected under the heading of “Ambulance Fee”. Owasso utility customers will see that fee reduced from $7 to $4 effective April 1, 2015 which coincides with the collection of the new sales tax rate. Senior citizens who are signed up for the city’s senior discount rate will still realize their $2 per month discount making their new monthly “Ambulance Fee” $2.
The Council will discuss this matter at the February 10 work session and are expected to take action on the item at the February 17 regular meeting.
For questions regarding the fee reduction or for information on qualifying for the senior citizens discount, please contact the utility billing department at City Hall at 918 376-1500. Thank you and have a great day.
