Virginia Mae Flaming was born August 12, 1936 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to David and Clara Vivian (Nikkel) Just. She died Friday, January 27, 2017, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 80 years. She was reared and educated in Collinsville, Oklahoma, and graduated with the Collinsville High School Class of 1954 and was a member of the Nifty Fifties. She continued her education attending classes at Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas. Virginia spent most of her working life as a Receptionist at the Baptist Village in Owasso. She was married August 22, 1956, in Collinsville, Oklahoma, to Arlyn “AJ” Flaming. She was a faithful member of Rejoice Church in Owasso and was active with their “Women of Wisdom” (WOW) group. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes such as playing cards with her WOW group and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Arlyn “AJ” Flaming.
Visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2017, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2017, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel with Reverend Leonard Pirtle officiating. Interment will be at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville, Oklahoma. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Samaritan’s Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
