Virginia Sue Roberts was born October 9, 1932, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Raymond Homer Brown and Viola Faye Huff Brown. She died Saturday, June 18, 2022, in Clare, Michigan, at the age of 89 years. Virginia was reared and educated in Oklahoma City and graduated with the Oklahoma City Northeast High School Class of 1950. She was married July 14, 1951, in Oklahoma City to Harland Roberts. They moved to Owasso, Oklahoma, in 1990, and served as houseparent’s at The Baptist Children’s Home of Owasso where they influenced many teenage girls throughout their 10 years. She and Harland were faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church in Owasso. Virginia was active in women’s missions at the church as well as being involved in church activities. She also enjoyed working with crafts and painting. After Harland’s’ passing in February of 2007, she moved to Nixa, Missouri. She spent the last years attending Harmony Baptist Church in Rogersville, Missouri, where she enjoyed her Sunday School Class and her church.

Veronica Owings and husband John, of Alex, Oklahoma
Ronald Roberts, of Alex, Oklahoma
Great grandchildren; Brittany Roberts, Justin Ty Roberts, Madison Jackson, and
Melea Jackson, Matrick Payne Jackson, and Liam Owings.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harland Roberts, and a grandson, Michael Codling.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Graveside funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2022, at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso, Oklahoma. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Virginia’s memory to the Oklahoma Baptist Children’s Home of Owasso, 12700 East 76th Street North, Owasso, Oklahoma, 74055. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
