WATER METER CHANGE OUT PROGRAM (EL RIO VISTA)
ATTENTION:
Residents in the El Rio Vista neighborhood (SEE MAP) will be seeing vehicles and personnel from Second Sight Systems in your neighborhood over the next 30-45 days. These contractors have been hired by the city to remove all out of date water meters and replace them with electronic water meters that can be read electronically. Some water meter cans will be replaced if needed at the direction of city staff.
Things to expect: Personnel hanging door hangers giving 48 hr notice of work. Personnel knocking on doors to let you know they are going to shut the water off on the day of the actual work (usually only 10-15 minutes). Personnel digging up the old meter cans and installing new water meters. Once work is completed, and water is turned on workers will run an outside faucet to try and eliminate any air in the lines. Homeowners should be aware that they still may experience some air in the lines and are recommended to run the water for a few minutes to remove any additional air in their lines.
