Wes Robbins finished his race on earth May 20, 2023. He was born February 16, 1959, to Don and Martha Robbins. Wes graduated from Owasso High School in 1978, where he excelled on the football and track teams. After graduation, he attended Claremore Junior College and later obtained his journeyman’s license from the Iron Workers Local 584 in Tulsa. Wes’ love for construction led him to build and remodel many homes in and around the Owasso area and then to becoming the Building Engineer for Tulsa Federal Employees Credit Union. Wes enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed buying and selling collectibles. Wes had a true gift at turning junk into treasures.
Wes was involved in an accident in 2012 that resulted in a traumatic brain injury. From weeks in a coma, to multiple rehab facilities, to living at home, Wes fought hard to overcome the adversity that he was faced with. He continued to fight hard until the very end. He was an amazing husband, dad, son, brother, and friend, but Wes was most proud to be called – Grandpa. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Wes is survived by his wife of 42 years, Rhonda, sons and daughters-in-law, Kyle and Alison Robbins of Augusta, Kansas, and Kendall and Hailey Robbins of Miami, Oklahoma, and four amazing grandchildren, Nick, Charlotte, Wyatt, and Huk Robbins.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his honor to the Madonna Rehab Facility, Lincoln, Nebraska. Wes made great strides following his accident at Madonna Rehab and we will forever be grateful for the work they do there.
