Question:
At what age should I get my first my mammogram?
Answer:
The American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology recommends that screening mammograms be offered to women starting at the age of 40. Clinical breast exams should be done yearly on women who are 40 years of age and older. Clinical exams should be done on women aged 20-39 every one to three years. Breast self-awareness should be encouraged starting at age 20. Enhanced screening should be implemented for women who are at high risk of breast cancer. This is determined by your personal and family history.
