William David Hayes a former fitter welder and jack of all trades died unexpectedly following a short illness on Tuesday February 2, 2016. He lived with his faithful dog Boo in Claremore Oklahoma. David is a recent widower that lost his beloved wife of 11 years, Kaye, who passed away in July of 2015. In recent years he was a much loved member of the Car-mart team in Claremore where he will be missed by all.
David was born on March 25, 1951 in Casa Grande Arizona, the second child and eldest son of the late William Arthur (Bill) and Mildred Louise Hayes. Upon leaving Arizona as a child David attended public schools in Collinsville Oklahoma until 1970 when the family moved to Oologah Oklahoma. As a young man David loved riding horses, rodeo and dancing tocountry music. He was also an avid sportsman that enjoyed both hunting and fishing.
David is proceeded in death by his parents, William Arthur Hayes and Mildred Louise Hayes of Oologah, siblings Sharon Ramsey of Collinsville, Jimmy Ray Hayes of Collinsville, Patsy Gaither of Skiatook, Michael Hayes of Oologah, and Danny Hayes of Oologah.
Survivors include two children, Shelly Hayes and Clayton Hayes of Arkansas, 6 siblings, Gerald Hayes of Seattle Washington, Larry Hayes of Owasso, Lyndsey Hayes of Owasso, Lonnie Hayes of Claremore, Denise Purcell of Locust Grove, Roger Hayes of Owasso and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Hope Chapel, 11400 E 116th St N, Owasso, OK with Pastor Don Cason officiating.
